Site Build It Review - Part II
Feb 9th, 2008 | By admin | Category: Reviews, Site Build ItA little over seven months ago, I wrote a Site Build It review for this blog, answering some questions a reader had about the product. In that original post, I discuss my thoughts on the product, but didn’t give any real hard numbers on my success (or lack thereof ;)).
For the record, my niche website with Site Build It is just one piece of my internet empire. I also have some blogs and minisites, plus the projects I work on with Erin, like this internet marketing blog and a soon-to-be-open-for-business web site that we’re working diligently on. In all, I have my finger in a lot of pies, but my SBI site basically runs on its own at this point, so my time is freed up to focus on new business ventures.
I started my Site Build It site in July 2005 and immediately set to building it up quickly. It went through the usual growing pains, being sandboxed by Google, ignored by Yahoo…all the rites of passage most new sites experience. However, I kept with it and at this time, it has about 200 pages and receives approximately 2000 unique visitors per day. While Site Build It sites are typically built for long tail keywords, I am in Google Top 5 for my main keyword now. Between valuable content, links in, and choosing a niche with good demand but low competition (at the time!), my site was pretty much destined for greatness
What you probably REALLY want to know though: just how much money is this site making me? Quite honestly, monetizing a site isn’t my strength so I rely on Adsense for the majority of my income. Between Clickbank revenue, affiliate sales and Adsense, this site generates anywhere from $450 - $700/ month. Since I really want to bump that amount up to $1000/month, I’m currently working on a redesign that will take better advantage of the site’s space. I plan to add ebook and membership reviews, too, which I hope will jack up my Clickbank sales. And since I get good traffic for a niche site and have decent PR, I expect to offer advertising down the line.
I’m happy with the amount of money my SBI site brings in. When you consider that months will go by where I do nothing with it, I can’t complain at all about the return on investment. True, I did work my bootie off in the beginning, but this is a site I can hold on to forever, let it do it’s thing, and keep cashing those checks.
Site Build It costs $299 per year. My site makes that in three weeks, so the rest of the year, all the profit belongs to me.
If you’re interested in becoming a Site Build It owner, they’ve got a great special going on now that you’ll want to take advantage of. And if you have any questions about SBI and how it works, let us know! Erin and I are always happy to help.
