I just started a new (and much-needed) program to help me get my internet business under better control. In keeping with my “back to basics” goal, I signed up for Alice Seba’s Internet Marketing Spring Cleaning membership a few weeks ago and just did my first homework assignment. Boy…I THOUGHT I had a pretty good handle on things already, but with Alice’s directions, I’m not so sure. In fact, I’m very certain I have a long way to go!

Honestly, it was difficult to submit my homework because it’s never easy to open yourself up to criticism; even the constructive kind. It would be easier to continue on my path with blinders on, pretending there are a zillion and one reasons why I haven’t made a million dollars yet.

“The kids take up so much of my time, I can’t devote enough to my business.”

“I’m just going to take five minutes to see what Perez Hilton has to say.”

“I spent hours in IMs today with my friends, brainstorming the next big thing!”

And so on…

But this year, I’ve woken up. I want to have personal AND business success and in order to accomplish that, it’s essential that I open myself up to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. So here’s to you, Ms. Seba! Critique away!
